Oliver’s Doggie Treats began with one big heart, a love for dogs, and a young man determined to carve out his own place in the world.

Oliver is a dog‑loving entrepreneur with Down Syndrome who lives life with joy, purpose, and a spark that inspires everyone who meets him. More than eleven years ago, while attending Hohepa, he dreamed of creating something that would let him earn his own income, build confidence, and share his talents with others. When finding paid work proved challenging, Oliver didn’t give up. He built his own path.

That path became Oliver’s Doggie Treats, a small but mighty social enterprise where every biscuit is made by Oliver with a lot of aroha.

From prepping the pumpkin to measuring ingredients, mixing dough, rolling it out, hand‑cutting each bone‑shaped treat, baking, weighing, and packaging, Oliver does it all. Every bag is sealed with care in eco‑friendly packaging stamped with his very own logo. His treats are made from simple, wholesome ingredients: pumpkin, wholemeal flour, molasses, cinnamon, and canola oil.

For Oliver, this business is more than a job. It’s independence. It’s confidence. It’s a way to show the world what’s possible when talent is nurtured and supported. His treats have become favourites at disability markets and among loyal customers who keep coming back not only because the biscuits are delicious, but because they’re made with heart.
