Collection: Jo Bridgwater

Hello, my name is Jo Bridgwater I was lucky enough to
be born with high functioning autism and a 6cm leg
difference again lucky me. At 11 years I had an operation
that reduced it to 3cm.
I was born in England and as a child loved being
creative, visiting galleries and going to stately homes to
look at art. My family emigrated to New Zealand when I
was 12 years old.
Over the years I’ve tried hard not to let my limitations
hold me back. In collage I did two bursaries in
photography and painting, I also took classes in jewellery
making and art exploration. I was able to get accepted
into Auckland University of Technology (AUT) doing a
Bachelor of Art and Design. Majoring in photography
dabbling in painting, drawing and spacial design. Since
then, I have taken part in several exhibitions. I also get
involved with local community art studios, theatre
productions and clubs.
I now have a home studio in my garden were I can make
whatever my heart desires I’ve also been doing kids art Classes
